MADISON COUNTY — The Madison County Board of Supervisors on Sept. 30 approved a package of routine and time-sensitive actions, including ratifying an emergency declaration connected to a fire alarm at the county detention center, authorizing a job posting for a front-desk receptionist, approving budget amendments and allowing county officials to retrieve opioid-settlement payments and complete required paperwork.
Greg, a county staff member who presented several items, told the board the meeting was “primarily to close out the year end.” He described the emergency declaration as related to “the fire alarm at the detention center” and asked the board to ratify it. The board approved the declaration by voice vote.
