The Michigan House of Representatives failed to reach a quorum and adjourned until Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2025, at 10 a.m., the chamber clerk announced.
The clerk told members that enrolled House Bill 4524 was presented to the governor on Friday, Sept. 26, for approval and said the bill was reproduced and made available electronically along with a set of other bills. "The clerk announced the enrollment printing and presentation to the governor on Friday, September 26 for her approval, the following bill, enrolled house bill 4524 at 02:58PM," the clerk said during the brief session.
The clerk also read a schedule of upcoming committee meetings: the House Committee on Election Integrity on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 9 a.m. in Room 307 of the House Office Building; the House Committee on Oversight on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 9 a.m. in Room 352 of the State Capitol; the House Committee on Transportation Infrastructure on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at noon in Room 519 of the House Office Building; the House Committee on Education and Workforce on Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 10:30 a.m. in Room 5327 of the House Office Building; and the House Committee on Natural Resources and Tourism on Wednesday, Oct. 1 at noon in Room 519 of the House Office Building.
A member called the lack of a quorum to the presiding officer's attention during the roll call, saying, "Mister speaker, a quorum of the house is not present." After that point the clerk closed the roll and the chamber was adjourned for lack of quorum.
There were no recorded motions, votes, or substantive policy debates during the brief session. The only formal actions recorded in the transcript were the clerk's procedural announcements and the adjournment for lack of quorum.
