Jennings County School Corporation board approves policies, programs, contracts and personnel in unanimous votes

The Jennings County School Corporation Board voted unanimously to approve a series of routine and program items at its meeting, including policy updates, an education program donated by the Jennings County Health Department, an annual STEM contract, multiple personnel recommendations and a package of community donations.
Board members approved the consent agenda and a batch of Neola policies presented to the board. The board also approved the Second Steps supplemental bullying education program that the Jennings County Health Department purchased with grant funds and donated to the corporation as a supplement to guidance-counselor instruction.
The board approved the annual STEM extracurricular contract described in the meeting as an ECA contract. The board accepted several personnel recommendations: volunteers and hires approved included Kendall Euler as a volunteer softball coach at Jennings County High School; Angela Robertson as a Sand Creek Elementary special education self-contained teacher (approval pending completion of hiring requirements); Austin Wells as a volunteer high school football coach; Rachel Wilkerson as a paraprofessional at Hayden Elementary; and Cameron Moore as a paraprofessional at North Vernon Elementary (pending hiring requirements).
The board also approved a list of donations to schools across the corporation, including monetary and in-kind gifts (school supplies, backpacks and program donations) from local businesses, service organizations and health providers. The donations list presented to the board included contributions to Brush Creek Elementary, the high school, the middle school, Scipio and other sites.
All motions recorded in the meeting passed on unanimous voice votes with six board members voting in favor and no recorded oppositions.
The board did not take any other formal action on outstanding items such as the roof proposal; that item was presented as information and will return for future action.
