Council hears police staffing, July 4 enforcement and DA budget concerns; Broomfield PD reports no complaints after holiday

Council members asked city staff about enforcement at large events, a community policing hiring strategy and an unexpected rise in the district attorney’s budget that will affect Broomfield’s municipal court budget.

Council members and the chief described July 4 enforcement as successful and said staff received zero complaints in the debrief that followed the holiday. "We plan a two‑day debrief afterwards ... so no, we didn't — we only got comments, positive, that it was a family‑friendly environment," the chief said.
