Limestone County Commission approves land grant match, courthouse repairs, hires and appointments at Sept. 2 work session

The Limestone County Commission at a Sept. 2 work session approved a series of routine resolutions, contracts and personnel actions, including acceptance of a $200,000 Land and Water Conservation Fund grant to acquire a tract off Cotton Belt Road that joins Sugar Creek and a $69,500 budget revision to replace rotted doors on the courthouse second floor.

The commission voted without recorded objection to accept the FY‑'24 Land and Water Conservation Fund grant and provide a $200,000 local match in in‑kind services to prepare the site, including cleaning and using millings for gravel, County staff said. The action was listed on the agenda as a resolution to receive the LWCF grant for a tract off Cotton Belt Road that adjoins Sugar Creek.
