The court approved payment of bills and several procurement items listed on the agenda: authorization to pay $76,230 to the Texas Association of Counties Risk Management Pool for fourth-quarter workers' compensation; $344,680.02 to ATMAX Equipment for a MowerMax Prime mower for Precinct 1; and $391,619 to Holt Company for a Caterpillar 150 AWD motor grader for Precinct 3. Commissioners voted to approve the listed bills on a single motion.
The court approved the county judge executing the Texas Department of Transportation routine airport maintenance program for FY 2026 (see separate article).
The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office requested renewal of the inmate housing agreement with Cook County. The presenter said Grayson County’s current jail population was 393, with 30 inmates housed out of county and 19 of those in Cook County; the presenter told the court the Cook County housing rate will increase by $10 per day. Commissioners approved renewal of the housing agreement.
The court approved an agreement with GovOS to provide online services for certified records requests — including birth certificates, death certificates and copies of marriage licenses — that county staff said will cost the end user $10 per request and will not cost the county. The presenter said state charges for those documents remain in effect and GovOS will facilitate online ordering and mailing for an additional fee to the requester.
On land-use business the court approved a short plat request, Bounds Estates in Precinct 3. Staff said the property comprises approximately 19.176 acres on the north side of Bound Rose and that the owner requested subdivision into 12 lots; staff told the court the subdivision complies with county regulations and the court approved the request.
The court recessed into executive session under Texas Government Code Section 551.071 to consult with counsel regarding pending litigation. When the court reconvened, the judge announced there was no action to be taken on items discussed in executive session.
