Council schedules multiple utility projects for formal action: waterline, force main, alignment study and sewer change order

Crossville — During the work session the council added several infrastructure items to its formal agenda for future action, including a planning commission‑approved Meadow Creek Drive waterline extension, recommendation to award a bid for an 8‑inch force main under I‑40/I‑127 near Genesis Road, a $72,000 contract with Consul Engineering for an alignment study to extend Interstate Drive, and change order No. 1 for sewer system improvements related to bar screens.

Staff reported the Meadow Creek Drive mainline utility extension had been approved by the planning commission and required final council approval. On the Interstate force main, engineering of record recommended a contractor for the 8‑inch line under the interstate and along Genesis Road to support increased sewer capacity in the industrial interchange area; the project includes a parallel 8‑inch line to supplement an existing 4‑inch line.

Council also heard a request to approve a contract with Consul Engineering for $72,000 to conduct an alignment study to extend Interstate Drive from Genesis to Peavine (crossings to Cook Road included). Staff said the study will produce a clearer route and capital cost estimates.

A separate change order for approximately $3,000 was presented to cover revised shop drawings for bar screen electrical requirements; staff said the county will share that cost.

All items were moved to the formal agenda for council action at a subsequent meeting.
