The Del Valle ISD Board of Trustees recorded several formal actions when the meeting returned to open session Sept. 2. The following motions and recorded outcomes were announced on the record.
1) Consent Agenda: Trustee Pantoha moved to approve minutes for Aug. 5, Aug. 14 and Aug. 19; the motion was seconded by Secretary Guadagnolo. The board voted and the motion carried, 9–0.
2) Personnel: The board approved the superintendent’s recommendation to hire Dr. Terrence Eaton as associate principal of Early College High School. Secretary Guadagnolo made the motion; Trustee Wright Haywood seconded. The board voted by show of hands and the motion carried, 9–0.
3) Lone Star governance committee: The board voted to create a Lone Star governance committee not to exceed four members and invited interested trustees to communicate interest to the board president. Trustee (mover) made the motion and Trustee Burton seconded; the motion carried, 9–0.
4) Adjournment: The board adopted a motion to adjourn at 9:17 p.m.; motion carried, 9–0.
No additional formal actions from closed session were taken in open session that evening, and staff announced there were no actions on items A or B from executive session.
