Melissa Campbell summarized work completed and outstanding: building inspections have approved the bathrooms, which are about three‑quarters complete; playground subgrade is prepared and equipment delivery is expected in October; the pickleball area and basketball court are ready for blacktop; new hoops and backboards are planned; and the multiuse/soccer field is roughly three‑quarters ready pending topsoil and seeding.
Campbell said town and village representatives are coordinating on surveillance plans and fencing for the park. “They do wanna have some sort of surveillance for that park to keep the kids safe,” she said, and noted the board will obtain quotes for pickleball fencing and review gate sizes so ambulances can access the park if needed.
Campbell said the project team will bring back playground planning consultants to confirm placement of ADA‑compliant rubber surfacing and the pavilion location. She also noted the town will continue steps toward a separate grant application for expansion of Craigville park and a larger pavilion renovation.
Officials said some equipment lead times are long because manufacturing is overseas and shipments arrive by sea, but that deliveries remain on schedule. The town anticipates publishing coordinated updates at upcoming JRC and town meetings as equipment arrives and installations progress.
Town leaders emphasized the joint village–town coordination on approvals and inspections and said they expect to finalize several remaining details at the next JRC meeting scheduled for Sept. 9.
