Jenny Dean Elementary construction reported on time and on budget; underground stormwater chamber included

Project managers told the school board that construction of the new Jenny Dean Elementary School is progressing on schedule and on budget, with site utility work, structural steel erection and interior mechanical, electrical and plumbing rough-ins underway.
Craig Caffeller (presenting as project lead) reported the site is prepared for installation of an underground stormwater retention chamber intended to reduce runoff and support sustainability goals. He said inspections were current and compliant and that roughly 100 workers are on-site each day. Masonry crews have advanced vertical and load-bearing walls and structural steel deliveries have arrived; roofing work will follow steel erection and priorities for immediate completion include the administrative wing, gymnasium and kitchen.
Caffeller also said coordination with the existing Jenny Dean Elementary School continues to prevent disruption to current school operations. He said the next construction update (scheduled for the October meeting) will include details on outdoor learning spaces for the new building and an update on the Osborne Connector project, both of which he said remain on time and on budget.
Ending: Board members thanked the project team and noted visible weekend work on the site; the board did not take formal action on the construction report.
