During public comment at the Aug. 27 Hawaiian Gardens City Council meeting, resident Kim Hen said she has received repeated letters from her homeowners association that she described as harassment and asked the city for help.
Kim Hen said she previously served as HOA president for 11 years, that she knows the bylaws and rules, and that the HOA had not assisted her since she last raised the matter with the council. “They sent me a lot of letter harassing me, told me that, you know, well, I need my place to clean up and do what the HOA should done,” she said. Hen told the council she is concerned about remaining in her home and asked for city assistance so she can be comfortable staying until possibly the end of the year.
Mayor and council members acknowledged the comment but no formal action or specific direction to staff was recorded in the meeting minutes for this item.
