Jacksonville City Council approved a resolution authorizing payment reimbursement of $23,800 to Jackson Memorial Hospital for construction of a dual electric-vehicle charging station. Council members said the cost is being passed through from an Ameren Illinois grant the city received for EV charging infrastructure.
City attorney and staff described the item as a simple reimbursement: Memorial installed one recharging station and the motion authorized using grant funds to cover the hospital’s cost. Council discussion on the measure was brief; no amendments were requested. The council approved the payment by recorded vote.
Staff indicated the reimbursement is not a city-funded capital expense because the money comes from the grant; the approved payment will be issued to the hospital following execution of the reimbursement paperwork.
