Layton City councilors on Sept. 18 approved an amended condominium plat (Layton Park Plaza Condominium, second amendment) that will combine and enclose a common interior walkway so it becomes part of Unit 9. The change allows an existing tenant to expand into the enclosed area.
The property is in the MU (mixed-use) zone and staff said the enclosure does not restrict access for other building tenants. The Planning Commission reviewed the amendment on Aug. 26 and unanimously recommended approval; staff supported that recommendation.
Council action A council member moved and seconded approval at the Sept. 18 meeting and the council adopted the amended plat by roll-call vote; the vote was unanimous.
Ending: Staff will record the amended plat after any remaining administrative conditions are met and will advise the applicant on permitting and any building-code steps required to convert the walkway to occupied space.
