Board reshuffles subcommittees: Schwartz elected vice clerk; Special Education and dual-immersion panels reassigned

The Temecula Valley Unified School District Board of Education voted on Sept. 23 to reorganize several of its advisory and subcommittee assignments.
Trustees elected Steven Schwartz as vice clerk and as the board advisory committee liaison. The motion to elect Schwartz passed by a 3–2 vote. Trustee Schwartz said he accepted the role and pledged to coordinate advisory committee work with the board president.
The board also revised membership on specific subcommittees. Trustees approved replacing a member on the Temecula Elementary School dual-immersion subcommittee, removing one member and adding Trustee Veil Barham to that panel; trustees indicated they will meet with program leads to review dual-immersion planning. The motion to change dual-immersion membership was adopted by roll call.
On the Special Education subcommittee the board voted to add Trustee Joseph Komrovsky to the panel and confirmed that the subcommittee will include a parent participant; that motion passed 4–0. Trustees said the Special Education subcommittee has been actively meeting on quarterly problem-solving items and will continue to refine schedules and membership.
Trustees described the reorganizations as part of routine subcommittee management and said additional changes can be proposed at future meetings.
