The Temecula City Council on Sept. 23 appointed 18 residents to the city’s General Plan Advisory Committee and unanimously adopted a community outreach plan for the general plan update process.
The committee — called the GPAC and sized at 15 to 20 members by council policy — will serve a term the staff said runs Oct. 1, 2025, through Dec. 31, 2026. Staff reported the recruitment period produced 74 applications; council members selected an initial slate of 18 appointees that the council approved 5-0.
City staff described the outreach plan as a wide-ranging effort designed to inform the General Plan update and gather resident input. “The recruitment ran from 08/15/2025 to 09/15/2025 and resulted in 74 applications,” staff member Peters said during the meeting.
