The Port Washington Board of Public Works awarded the 2025 sanitary sewer lining project to the low bidder, Visionsur, after staff said the work will rehabilitate approximately 1.67 miles of sewer main and align with future street projects.
Staff reported the lining program is an annual effort; the board lined 2 miles in 2024 and is proposing 1.67 miles in 2025. The low bid was $370,911.25 against a $425,000 budgeted amount, and staff recommended awarding the contract to Visionsur as the low bidder. Staff said some of the lining locations align with the Webster Street project and that lining is typically scheduled before street reconstruction to avoid rework.
A motion by Alderwoman Miller to approve staff’s recommendation was seconded by Mr. Sudendorf and carried on a voice vote.
Staff said plant operators have observed reductions in inflow and infiltration attributable to lining work and noted lining improves hydraulic capacity and reduces blockages and backups during rain events. The board approved the award; staff will schedule the lining to coordinate with related street projects.
