Satellite Beach proclaims October 2025 Fire Prevention Month; city updates on community events

The proclamation cites national Fire Prevention Week themes and urged residents to take steps such as installing and testing smoke alarms and practicing home escape plans. "The Satellite Beach Fire Department is dedicated to reducing the occurrence of home fires and home fire injuries through prevention and protection education," the proclamation reads.
During the city manager's report, staff also announced upcoming community events, including a Halloween golf cart parade stepping off at Delora Middle School on Oct. 24, a Satellite Beach Lions Club pancake breakfast on Oct. 12, and the Founders Day celebration at the DRS Community Center on Nov. 1. The city encouraged nominations for Citizen of the Year (deadline Oct. 15) and thanked staff members and volunteers for recent community-service efforts.
A resident during public comment commended the community medic program and firefighters for a recent Health First–sponsored luncheon and thanked the department for personalized outreach; another resident asked staff to follow up on an audible pedestrian crossing delay at Scribe Court and staff said they had been in contact with FDOT regarding a "glitch."
