Saucon Valley School District board approves routine personnel, facilities and finance items; theater contracts, expulsion waiver and MOU among motions

Saucon Valley School District Board members approved a package of routine personnel, facilities and finance items during their regular meeting, adopting measures that included an expulsion-waiver agreement, a memorandum of understanding with St. Luke’s, multiple staffing approvals and several theater-related contracts.

Board members said the items were noncontroversial and moved together after being read into the record. The motions passed after voice votes with no recorded opposition.

The board approved two items read from the education packet: an expulsion-waiver agreement and a memorandum of understanding with St. Luke’s. The board then approved six personnel items covering 2025–26 day-to-day substitutes, bus drivers, a full-time floating custodian, homebound instructors, an affiliation agreement and a resignation.

In facilities, the board approved the 2025–26 bus routes and driver assignments as a single item. In finance, members approved five items grouped together: high school theater production (the board was told the high school show is Finding Nemo and that contract dates are pending), a grades 3–5 theater production, a CIU 20 special education contract, funding related to the Saucon Valley Foundation for Educational Innovation, and a Harlem Wizards item. During discussion, a board member requested more detail on the high school production contract and was told the theater director retains discretion to announce dates and that contracts are being processed for payment.

The board also approved a motion to submit its PSBA (Pennsylvania School Boards Association) ballots as represented by the ballots given to the board secretary; members authorized the secretary to submit the ballots as the board’s official vote.
