Trustees asked how soon nominations would be needed; staff said nominations ideally would be in place by the regular September meeting so training and posting timelines could be met.
A board member asked whether the district could purchase library books before the council was formed; staff replied purchases have been placed on hold pending the SLAC's creation.
The board voted 5'0 to approve the policy and direct staff to begin forming the council.
