When combined with state and federal funds, Measure I has helped deliver approximately $2.9 billion in transportation improvements countywide, he said.
Greer highlighted local projects funded by Measure I, including freeway extensions, interchanges, local road resurfacing, MetroLink and bus investments and street‑level improvements such as traffic signals and sidewalks. He also noted taxpayer protections built into the measure, including an independent oversight committee and a 1% cap on administrative spending. "What's another great thing about Measure I? It's locally controlled," Greer told the council. "That means San Bernardino County and city leaders decide how funds are spent rather than being directed by outside agencies."
Council members asked questions about specific corridors — for example, concerns about the 215 area around Palm and Kendall — and Greer said SBCTA is aware of corridor needs and welcomed partnership. Greer also referenced the Mount Vernon Bridge completion celebration scheduled for Aug. 23 and said SBCTA would continue coordinating on regional projects such as express lanes and interchanges.
