The Evansville Parks Board voted Sept. 3 to approve permanent easements to CenterPoint Energy for two electrical distribution lines (labeled WS 63 and WS 58) after staff confirmed the easements would not negatively impact park facilities or Mesker Park Zoo.
Deputy Director Paul Bausman has been in touch with CenterPoint Energy to coordinate the work, Danielle told the board, and the Parks Department does not object to the permanent easements. “Paul Bausman, our deputy director, has been in direct contact with CenterPoint to ensure that neither of these would negatively impact parks or the zoo,” Danielle said. She noted additional similar easements may come before the board in future meetings.
Board members approved the easements by voice vote. No construction schedule or compensation terms were stated on the record; staff indicated permanent easements are standard process and that two more easement requests could appear at a subsequent meeting.
