The Wyoming Valley West School District board conducted several routine votes during its September meeting: it tabled an agenda item after a candidate withdrew, approved prior meeting minutes, approved the district’s general recommended action items, and approved finance reports and bills for payment. One staff-recommended subitem did not receive a majority and failed.
Early in the meeting the board announced that item number 12 would be tabled after the candidate for that position withdrew. A motion to table carried on roll call.
The board then voted to approve the regular Aug. 13, 2025 board meeting minutes and the special Sept. 3, 2025 special meeting minutes; the motion carried on voice vote.
A motion to approve the general recommended action items (items 1 through 16) passed on roll call.
When the board took up staff-recommended action items (items 1 through the new item 11), the package passed overall, but several members voted “no” or otherwise excepted a particular subitem identified in the roll call as “number 2, bullet 0.2” (referred to in the meeting as item 2.b). Multiple directors indicated they were voting yes on the package except for that subitem; that specific subitem failed for lack of a majority.
The board approved finance recommended actions, including accepting bills for payment and receiving the finance manager’s and treasurer’s reports.
The next scheduled meetings are a work session and the regular October meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 8 at 7:00 p.m.
