Mr. Stout said staff’s recommendation was to invite Steps to Achieve to present at a future Committee of the Whole meeting so board members could ask questions about methodology and outcomes before deciding whether to contract for the study. The board gave a show of hands in favor of scheduling the presentation; staff said they would target an October Committee of the Whole meeting. Stout noted the proposal included $2 million in liability coverage and that payment would be due upon delivery of the final report.
This action was a preliminary procedural step: staff will host the presentation (no district cost) and the board will decide later whether to award a contract and expend $25,000 from district funds.
