Allegany County work session previews six consent items including $66,719 state grant and multiple board appointments

County staff previewed six items slated for the consent agenda at an upcoming Allegany County public meeting, including a state grant for the state's attorney's office and multiple board appointments.

Lori, a county staff member who read the agenda items during the work session, said the first consent item (Item A) is a GOCPP grant in the amount of $66,719 for the state's attorney's office to support Helios Year 3 cloud storage for body camera and video footage, case management and an "iSubpina" app for office efficiencies. "We have 6 items on the consent agenda," Lori said.

Other consent items reviewed included appointments to the Allegany County Commission for Women naming Shay Bonarigo and Jessica Caldwell to three-year terms expiring June 30, 2028; Library Board of Trustees appointments naming Molly Nelson McCord, Jack Coburn and Katie Weir to fill vacancies (terms expiring June 30, 2028 for the first two and June 30, 2030 for the third); a Police Accountability Board appointment of Ken Stevens for a three-year term expiring Sept. 1, 2028; a reappointment of David White to the Potomac Highlands Airport Authority board of directors through June 30, 2028; and a review and revision of county rules and regulations updating the county vehicle policy.

Staff told commissioners they had reviewed candidates for library and other boards; two commissioners said they had personally interviewed candidates before offering recommendations. No formal votes on those items were recorded in the work session transcript; staff said items would remain on the consent agenda unless a commissioner requested moving an item to the action agenda for the evening meeting.
