So 3 of those are pump stations. This fourth 1 is the interim surge. So it is located at the 3 pump stations that were skipped, to help mitigate surge as those pump stations are working along the pipeline." He explained the new configuration replaces older silo-style surge tanks with a tank system that is "water, air over water tank so that they run off of a compressor building." According to Andrew, those tanks allow stored water to flow into the pipeline during a power outage to limit surge.
Trustees asked for a brief scope and, after no further questions, voted to approve the item. Andrew noted the older silo tanks "were replaced pre COVID with the project, to go to the similar type of system with the existing pipeline." No amendments or timeline details were stated in the transcript.
