COPTA approves contracts, program project list and multiple service agreements

The Central Oklahoma Transportation and Parking Authority on Sept. 5 approved a series of contracts, a program project list under the federal Section 5310 program and multiple change orders and amendments to ongoing projects while receiving its monthly financial and program reports.

Board members voted to adopt a program of projects for federal fiscal years 2022–2023 under the Section 5310 program for seniors and individuals with disabilities and approved amendments, sole-source authorizations and service agreements for parking, streetcar maintenance and vehicle support.

The board adopted the Section 5310 program list after staff said COPTA has assumed administration of funds previously distributed through the Oklahoma Department of Transportation and that most projects identified are for revenue vehicles whose useful lives are ending. The board also approved a mutual lease termination with the Oklahoma Humanities Council retroactive to July 31, 2025, and a number of vendor contracts and contract amendments for operations and capital needs.

Key actions approved included: an amendment to the memorandum of understanding with the Regional Transit Authority of Central Oklahoma to adjust interim administrative responsibilities; a change order and amendment with Terra Construction for parking garage inspection…
