The Central Falls School Board approved minutes from its Aug. 26 meeting and approved six homeschool applications at the Sept. 23 meeting at Calcutt Middle School.
Board members voted to approve the minutes from the Aug. 26 meeting after Board member (Google) Figueroa moved to approve and Board member Carol Pagan seconded. The chair called for aye votes and the minutes were approved as presented.
The board considered six homeschool applications representing eight students. The superintendent recommended approval of all six applications, noting five of the six were returning families and one application was from a new family with a middle school student. Board member Tom Evans moved to approve the superintendent’s recommendation; Board member (Google) Figueroa seconded. The board voted in favor.
Also on the consent agenda, the superintendent presented the monthly human resources memo, reporting continued hiring to reduce start‑of‑year vacancies and the district’s largest cohort of Warrior Fellows to provide classroom support. The memo also noted some resignations since the start of school, mainly among teaching assistants and a small number of Warrior Fellows; no retirements were reported as of September. The HR memo was informational and did not require a separate vote.
