RICHMOND, Ind. — The Richmond City Board of Public Works and Safety on Sept. 11 approved routine claims totaling $338,407.64 and a slate of contracts, a bid award and local closures, and granted a temporary right-of-way easement tied to a downtown building renovation.
The board voted to approve a 48-month state contract for street-sweeping services (contract 1282025) in the amount of $41,760 covering July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2029, and authorized Board President Lutman to sign that contract. The board also approved a purchase contract with Ultimate K9 LLC (contract 1382025) not to exceed $28,435 to add a dual-purpose police canine trained in patrol, narcotics detection and tracking; that purchase is funded by donations from VFW Post 1108, the board was told.
The board awarded the street department’s vehicle bid for a 2026 Ford F-350 chassis with service body to Wetzel Ford for $79,379.76, the lowest bidder, and approved two change orders associated with a public-works project: a no-cost correction to a funding-source line item (change order 19-2025) and an added $5,625.21 to relocate 10 trash receptacles and add concrete pads for consistency and pedestrian clearance (change order…
