Planning commission approves Brookview Phase 1B, recommends buffer modification and denies larger entry signs for Phase 1A

The Flower Mound Planning & Zoning Commission on Sept. 22 approved Brookview Phase 1B, a 140-lot townhome subdivision, and recommended that Town Council approve Brookview Phase 1A only after granting a modification to the required 25-foot landscape buffer. The commission voted to deny the applicant's request to enlarge the subdivision entry sign faces from 60 square feet to 108 square feet.

The commission's recommendation on Phase 1A stems from two distinct requests tied to the same subdivision: a modification to extend the required 25-foot landscape buffer along portions of the site that lie in front of a planned retention pond, and an exception to the town's recently adopted residential entry sign standard that limits sign face area to 60 square feet.
