The Franklin Special School District presented an update Sept. 8 on a multi‑year branding refresh that staff said is aligned with the district’s Aspire 2029 strategic plan.
Dr. Becker, speaking for teaching and learning, summarized recent work to implement the district’s refreshed logo and color palette beginning with the most visible items and while remaining “fiscally mindful and responsible,” he said. Examples staff reported include new branded vestibule signs in schools, exterior banners, branded table covers, wall murals, rugs, gym floor art, spirit wear, district vehicle decals, a rebranded Storybus Mobile Library, a recruitment kiosk and an updated FSD legacy gallery.
Staff said many items were updated in spring and summer and that a new district guide and a reimagined middle‑school course offerings guide were recently published. The district reported receiving the Golden Achievement Award from the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) for the branding campaign.
Board members asked where printed district guides will be distributed; staff said copies will be available in the central office lobby, at school front offices and at community events such as the State of the Schools or local festivals. Staff also said the materials will be shared with local realtors.
Other details in the teaching and learning report included plans to provide newly branded patches for school therapy dogs and the refurbishment and redeployment of the Storybus Mobile Library. Staff emphasized that the branding work is ongoing and intended to align with goals and stakeholder input gathered as part of Aspire 2029.
No vote was required; the board accepted the update and did not change district policy during the presentation.
