Software for agendas and public access: The board discussed a vendor (Diligent) that offers a hosted agenda-management platform and livestreaming for public meetings; the package price cited in the packet began near $8,500 per year depending on package. Commissioners and staff noted existing county tools (Adobe agenda PDFs, SharePoint, and the county website) already provide some functionality; several commissioners said the county should evaluate the outcome of an ongoing network project (Stronghold) before committing to a costly vendor.
Phone system / Zoom: A vendor contact from Zoom’s SLED (State, Local and Education) division had reached out; commissioners suggested scheduling a presentation if the office wants a formal demonstration. The board did not pick a vendor at the meeting and asked staff to schedule vendor presentations where appropriate.
Website and social-media administration: The board voted to add the commission chair as a full administrator on the county website, the county Facebook page and the county’s main Verizon account for continuity and to permit livestream or backup publishing in case of system outages. The motion to grant the chair full admin access was seconded and approved by voice vote.
Staff and commissioners said the county will pursue lower-cost solutions where possible and will consider vendor demos once network upgrades are further along.
