The Bourbon County Board of County Commissioners approved the consent agenda for Sept. 5, 2025, which included accounts payable totaling $308,641.44 and payroll totaling $326,473.16. The board also approved Resolution No. 31-25, described in the packet as a salary resolution for elected and appointed officials; commissioners were told the change had previously been voted on Aug. 11 and that the resolution formalized that action.
During discussion a commissioner asked to move the salary resolution closer to the top of the agenda so staff and elected officials who traveled could address questions. The resolution’s text, shown in the meeting packet, states it repeals previous salary resolutions and references Kansas statute citations for authority.
A motion to approve the corrected agenda and consent items was seconded and approved by voice vote. Commissioners recorded the ayes and there were no recorded nays. The board did not call a roll-call vote for individual line items during the consent vote.
Separately, commissioners agreed to table more detailed discussion of the salary-resolution particulars for further review after several elected officials raised questions about office staffing and payroll changes during the budget process.
