City staff announced two upcoming permit matters and reported routine parks and public-works updates.
Mayor and staff said the Oct. 6 agenda will include two applications from Bargain Barn (United Grocery Outlet) requesting a beer permit and a grocery-store wine permit; the commission will first vote on a certificate of compliance in the regular meeting and then convene as the beer board for a permit decision.
Parks and operations staff reported repaired lighting at Jones Park and that the upper soccer field is open and may receive irrigation upgrades. Eddie Thompson, in his first month on the job, and Public Works reported positive community response to repaired lighting and park maintenance. Staff also said routine building and truck maintenance work continue.
Action and next steps: commissioners will consider the Bargain Barn certificate of compliance and beer/wine permits at the Oct. 6 meeting; Parks and Public Works will continue scheduled maintenance and report back on irrigation estimates and park improvements.
