Vigo County commissioners accept Spring Hill Road project, sign paperwork for INDOT closeout

Vigo County commissioners voted to accept final completion of the Spring Hill Road project and authorized the signatures needed to close the file with the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT).

Larry Robbins of the Vigo County Highway Department told the commission the work and punch-list items are complete and that INDOT requires the county's signatures to finish administrative closeout. "This is just an official acceptance for our Spring Hill Road project. This is something INDOT needs to close everything out, and it just needs the commissioner's signatures to accomplish that," Robbins said.

Commissioners recorded the approval by voice vote after a motion was made and seconded; staff indicated the substantive construction and punch-list work were finished nearly a year ago. The county did not provide additional technical details in the meeting about remaining paperwork or outstanding warranties.

The action clears the county-level administrative step so INDOT can complete its closeout processes, according to highway department staff. The county did not specify any follow-up tasks, further costs, or outstanding claims related to the project during the meeting.

The acceptance was announced during the commissioners' regular morning session; the motion carried on a voice vote.
