The board also approved a $70,000 amendment to a tree‑care services agreement with Bluestone Tree Care; a federal‑aid design agreement for Old State Road 37 South and Dillman Road for $539,650 (90% HSIP-funded); a Cintas agreement for highway garage supplies at an average $225 per month; and a fuel‑station repair quote from Blue Energy Equipment not to exceed $92,173.
The commissioners adopted Ordinance 2025‑25, a package of traffic changes that adjusts speed limits, adds and removes school zones and modifies stop/yield locations. The board also approved an Indiana Railroad permit for limited tree removal at the Eagleson/Bridal replacement project (cost not to exceed $5,000) and ratified a multi‑county High‑Tech Crimes Unit agreement administered through the Indiana Prosecuting Attorney’s Council.
Several procedural items were also approved: minutes for the Aug. 28 meeting (approved 2‑0 with one abstention), and the claims and payroll dockets (totaling $2,299,959.90) were approved by roll call. The board approved an amended county policy on speed humps (see separate article) and accepted schematic design for the Justice Center, allowing consultant teams to proceed to the design‑development phase.
