The Board of County Commissioners on Thursday approved a request to serve and consume alcohol at a private event planned for Nov. 15 at Scott Driver Boat Ramp.
Christie Stevens asked permission to serve alcohol at a private 50th-birthday gathering for her husband. Staff said Stevens provided required proof of insurance and a quote from the sheriff’s office for event coverage. The county chair asked whether the organizer had completed all requirements; Stevens confirmed compliance.
Commissioner Goodbread moved to approve the permit; Commissioner Sumner seconded. The motion carried unanimously.
County staff reminded the board that such permits are conditioned on organizers meeting county requirements, including insurance and any law-enforcement or safety arrangements the sheriff’s office requires.
