Waverly council approves rezoning first reading, land survey, paving contract and IDOT maintenance agreement

The City Council of the City of Waverly on an evening meeting unanimously approved multiple measures affecting land use and public works.

The council gave a first reading to ordinance 11 72, which would rezone properties at the former Willow Lawn Mall from S-1 (Shopping Center District) to C-2 (Commercial District) and amend the Waverly zoning map. The motion set a public hearing on the ordinance for Oct. 6, 2025, at 7 p.m. at City Hall. The ordinance text as introduced identifies the properties by the addresses read into the record.
