Saroyan Elementary and El Capitan Middle report academic gains, attendance work and new family supports

Saroyan Elementary Principal Joelle Mills reported a 6.1 percentage‑point improvement in SBAC ELA from the prior year. She said the school focused on handwriting and writing stamina as part of instruction, which staff believe contributed to gains. Additional site results she presented included spring F&P proficiency at 75.2% (a reported gain of 8.1 points), iReady ELA 59.6% (+6.5) and iReady math 56.6% (+6.4).
