Organizers outline schedule, sponsorships and street closures for 2025 Pacifica Fog Fest

John Beckmeyer, president of the Fogfest Organizing Group, told the Pacifica City Council on Sept. 8 that the Pacifica Fog Festival will return Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 27–28, with an expanded program and renewed sponsorship support.
Beckmeyer said the event will include more than 300 food, arts and crafts booths, a children’s zone, four beverage stations and three stages hosting 23 music or dance acts across the two days. “We have over 26 sponsors this year,” Beckmeyer said, and thanked the City of Pacifica for its support.
Council members asked logistical questions about sponsorship levels, parking and street closures. Beckmeyer said sponsorship tiers range from about $2,500 up to $15,000 for stage-naming rights, and that parking will be available at the south and north ends of Palmetto Drive and at Ocean High School athletic fields, with a pedestrian overcrossing to the festival site. He said Palmetto Drive will be fully closed for the festival and most cross streets that empty onto Palmetto will be blocked; Beach Boulevard will operate as a two-way street during Fogfest to allow local traffic to navigate around closures.
City officials and Fogfest volunteers also discussed outreach and the restored third stage after financial reductions last year. Council members and the mayor thanked the organizers for their volunteer work and confirmed the event’s community benefit: Beckmeyer noted volunteers and partner nonprofits received more than $88,000 in grants or checks last year and that the festival distributes funds to over three dozen local groups.
The Fogfest organizers invited residents to find more information and sponsorship details on the festival website and poster. Beckmeyer gave the website as pacificcoastfogfest.com and said the group will post schedules and sponsor information there.
The presentation closed with an offer to provide the council a framed event poster and a reminder that the festival is produced by a volunteer board with broad community involvement.
