Village proclaims 2025 as centennial year for Saint Joseph's Catholic School

Mayor Mike Adrienne read a proclamation at the Sept. 16 Village of Manhattan meeting honoring Saint Joseph’s Catholic School on its 100th anniversary. The proclamation recognized the school’s century of service in faith-based education to Manhattan and surrounding communities.
Colleen Donke, principal of Saint Joseph’s Catholic School, accepted a plaque on behalf of the school and addressed the board and attendees. Donke thanked the village and families for a century of “faith-filled education,” and highlighted the school’s focus on character and service. “For a hundred years, our school has stood as a place where faith, family, and academics come together,” Donke said. Students in attendance recited a prayer together as part of the celebration.
Board members and attendees noted longtime alumni who have served the community, and Mayor Adrienne encouraged residents to join yearlong centennial celebrations recognizing the school’s contributions to education and civic life.
