Memorial benches and concrete pads Administrative remarks noted that 20 concrete pads were poured along the lake for memorial benches; three benches were already in place and additional benches had been ordered. The remarks said residents may purchase a bench (stated cost: $1,000), bring or have it delivered and then pay $325 to place it on one of the poured concrete pads. The administration said eight bench spots remained available.
Infrastructure and projects - 1554 Martha demolition: Summit County’s contractor is conducting an environmental assessment for asbestos; demolition has been delayed pending the study and a contractor price quote. - Second Street waterline replacement: staff reported work should begin in about a month after other projects conclude and yard restoration tasks are wrapping up. - Summit Connects fiber: county fiber installation is marking underground utilities and routing a loop that will link public-safety services; staff said the loop is not intended for residential service but to connect safety services on one communication line. Flagging for water, sewer and gas has been completed along the work route.
Public comment Resident Dave Hofer, of 2099 Cremroy Road, spoke during public comment and urged support for two Springfield Local Schools renewal levies on the ballot. Hofer said the renewals are a renewal levy and a permanent-improvement levy; he noted passage will move the district off fiscal caution.
