Board notes emergency extension for citywide drain-cleaning services

The Baltimore City Board of Estimates on Wednesday noted an emergency procurement extension with EGA Enterprises LLC for drain-cleaning services across city facilities, authorizing an additional $551,000 for a one-year stopgap through May 2026.
King Bennett, representing the Department of General Services (DGS), told the Board the extension covers drain cleaning at multiple city sites, including police districts, fire stations and recreation centers. ‘‘This stopgap will allow us to continue services throughout the city,’’ Bennett said.
DGS said the extension is temporary while the city finalizes a cooperative contract expected to run three years with two one-year renewal options. The Board noted the item; agency staff said they expect a competitive cooperative contract to be in place before the stopgap expires.
The agenda listed the item as SB2512601 (emergency procurement, EGA Enterprises LLC) and the Board recorded no opposition during the noting action.
