Commission approves August minutes and 2026 Corewell Health Irish Jig permit

The motion to approve the special event was moved by Commissioner Paul and seconded; the motion passed on an affirmative voice vote with no recorded roll call.
Staff told the commission that outside event organizers generally bear the financial risk for cancellations and that the city's potential costs are limited to low‑value items such as barricade placement and staff time. Staff also said event cancellation decisions generally rest with the event organizer, with city staff and public safety providing guidance when requested.
