Perry council authorizes SRF loan application and CDBG‑DR grant submission for water, wastewater and related projects

The City of Perry approved two funding actions during the Sept. 23 meeting: authorization to apply for a State Revolving Fund (SRF) loan to cover additional water project costs and approval to submit a Community Development Block Grant‑Disaster Recovery (CDBG‑DR) application for water and wastewater projects and related items.

City staff described the SRF action as an authorization to submit an application that could include up to $100,000 in additional borrowing authority if needed; staff said the final requested amount had not been finalized and that the SRF application would be prepared so the city would not need to return to council if an additional amount were required. "They didn't tell me an exact amount, but they did say that it wasn't going to be a full 100,000...they were thinking it would be much less than that," staff said.

On the CDBG‑DR item, staff said the city planned to submit several projects, mostly water and wastewater related, and to include a fire truck that had been approved in a prior CDBG application. Staff said they coordinated with lobbyists and engineers on the submissions.

Both resolutions were called for and approved by the council by roll call.
