Gilroy council approves consent calendar and two agenda items; selects League conference voting delegate

At its Sept. 15 meeting the council approved the consent calendar, authorized purchase of a modular classroom for police training, and approved travel for three council members to the League of California Cities conference and named a voting delegate; all recorded votes were unanimous.
The Gilroy City Council recorded several formal actions at its Sept. 15 meeting. All recorded votes below passed unanimously.
Consent calendar: The council approved the consent calendar (items 6.1 through 6.4) on a roll-call vote. Councilmember Marks moved approval with a second by Councilmember Ramirez; the motion passed 7-0.
Police training modular classroom: The council authorized the City Administrator to enter into a purchase agreement with Mobile Modular Management Corporation to buy the modular classroom located at the Police Department shooting range for $148,648.38, funding already included in the adopted fiscal 2026-27 budget. The city had leased a replacement classroom since 2024 at $22,326.34 per month after decommissioning an older, mold-contaminated facility. The motion to approve the purchase was made by Councilmember Bracco, seconded by Councilmember Ramirez, and passed 7-0.
League of California Cities travel and voting delegate: The council authorized travel for Councilmembers Fugazi and Ramirez and Mayor Greg Bozzo to attend the League of California Cities annual conference and selected Mayor Bozzo as the city's voting delegate for the conference. Motion by Councilmember Bracco, second by Councilmember Fugazi; vote 7-0. Staff reported the approximate cost for the three attendees is $7,000 and that costs were included in the budget.
Each of the above items included a public-comment period with no speakers on the modular classroom and no objections in council deliberations. Purchase and travel authorizations will be carried out per city purchasing and travel policies.
