Parks and recreation highlights 75 events for 2025; city debuts new website

Lynn Roy, the city’s communications and recreation coordinator, told the Yelm City Council on Sept. 9 that the parks and recreation program will finish 2025 with about 75 events and demonstrated the city’s new website.
Roy said the department is on track to end 2025 with roughly 75 events — about six per month or 1.5 per week — and that those programs “reached thousands of residents and visitors.” She credited partnerships with local organizations, businesses, nonprofits and other city departments for expanding offerings.
