Board approves online enrollment forms and sets 2025–26 registration windows for youth sports

Perkins Parks and Recreation approved proceeding with an online enrollment form and set registration windows for youth sports for the coming season.

Chris, a board member who built a proof‑of‑concept form on the city site, presented the form and described how registrations will be emailed to staff and linked to the payment portal so staff can reconcile payments. He demonstrated options such as drop‑down fields, time windows (open/close dates), and the ability to stop a form automatically when registration closes.

Board members discussed administrative items the form must address: collecting a physical address for each player (required for eligibility tracking), linking or providing the signed waiver as a fillable PDF, and electronic signatures to reduce paperwork. A board member reminded the group that “everything that goes on our site has to be ADA,” and the presenter said he would coordinate with city staff (Rachel) on accessibility and storage of waivers.

The board also set specific registration windows during the meeting: basketball signups to open Sept. 29 and close Oct. 10 with late signups Oct. 13–17; basketball games were planned to start in December. For spring sports (baseball, softball and T‑ball) staff described a registration window in December with the regular period running through early February and a late‑registration window mid‑February (exact dates were given on the record and are summarized below). A motion to proceed with the website enrollment changes and a motion to set the enrollment dates were each seconded and approved by the board.

Staff and the presenting board member will finalize the form, ensure ADA compliance and confirm processes for collecting waivers and reconciling online payments.
