The Pataskala City development committee reviewed a proposal to amend the city’s fee schedule to scale engineering-review fees to the size of submitted plans rather than using a flat $2,500 fee.
Staff said a one-size-fits-all $2,500 charge overcharges minor submissions such as single-page replats and undercharges large construction-plan submissions for subdivisions. The proposed change would base engineer-review fees on the number of pages submitted and align Pataskala’s practice with what staff said other communities use.
Staff told the committee the change is part of a broader fee-schedule update affecting multiple departments, including parks and public service; the update will be routed through each applicable committee and then to the board for adoption. Committee members offered no objections and were given notice that the amendment will be forthcoming.
What happens next: Staff will finalize the fee schedule revisions and present them in subsequent committee and board meetings as required by departmental processes. No fee changes were adopted at this meeting.
