The presenters said Class C and D rates and other specialty items would remain unchanged, and they noted that Washington County has already adopted similar rates; Holmes County’s rates must be posted and aligned for FHP calls that cross county lines. Castro explained the FHP rotation requires county-established maximums so out-of-county firms responding to major incidents follow the county’s posted rate schedule.
A county representative asked whether neighboring counties had adopted the changes; presenters confirmed Washington County had adopted a matching schedule and said their proposed Holmes County schedule mirrors that sheet to reduce inconsistencies for interstate or FHP-initiated calls. Commissioners asked for time to review the rate sheets and directed David (county staff) to return with a recommendation at a subsequent meeting. No formal action to adopt new rates was recorded during the hearing.
Presenters also corrected a typographical error in the rate sheet during the meeting (an erroneous “25,000” figure that should read “2,500” for a specific dolly/activation fee). Commissioners scheduled further review and asked staff to bring a recommendation to the board next week.
