Regulatory operations staff brought agenda items 3A and 4A forward for approval without discussion. Chair Williamson moved to accept staff recommendations and issue appropriate orders for both items; Commissioner Cordova seconded. The motions carried by voice vote.
Agenda item 5A was pulled for discussion by Commissioner Brown. Commissioner Brown said she supported the item and noted two points: that the Nevada Universal Service Fund assessment on consumers’ telephone bills is “going down by nearly 50% as a result of this recommendation,” and that “the lifeline reimbursement for low income customers for calendar year 2026 is predicted to be only $12,000 total,” which she said implies fewer than 300 wireline Lifeline customers statewide because only wireline customers are eligible for the reimbursement. After those comments, Chair Williamson moved to accept staff recommendations and issue the appropriate order for 5A; Commissioner Brown seconded and the motion carried.
No public comment was recorded at the meeting start or close. All recorded motions described above were adopted by unanimous voice vote, announced as “Aye.”
